Jessy & Kurtis' Stunning Wedding: Toronto Wedding Photographers at Carvers Cottage in Pickering8/5/2018 Jessy & Kurtis chose a beautiful backdrop for their Wedding photos at Carvers Cottage in Toronto. We're so happy to have captured their romantic moments at such a stunning location! We had the pleasure of photographing Jessy & Kurtis' Wedding at Carvers Cottage in Toronto. It was a beautiful, romantic location to have an outdoor Ceremony followed by family photos and fun shots with the bridal party. Then Jessy and Kurtis had the opportunity to be alone for awhile. We discovered some beautiful areas at Carvers Cottage. Although it was a hot day, there was a whimsical wind that swished through the branches of the willow tree & Jessy's veil!
Their photos are so beautiful, overlooking the lake and the greens and blues in their photos are just so lovely. Such a stunning backdrop for photos! We loved the cute cottage setting at Carvers Cottage. And what is remarkable is that the personalized sign (seen in the photo above) was carved on the premises by Sandra and Luke Andrews of Carvers Cottage. Jessy's bouquet, by Aspen Florist, was colourful and kept with the theme of purples and blues. Later in the evening, her theme colours continued at the Ajax Convention Centre. We're thrilled to share their love story and photos of their adventurous moments on their Wedding day. How Jessy and Kurtis' romance all started: "Kurtis and I went to different high schools, but we met through a mutual friend who thought we had a lot in common. We went out a couple of times, and Kurtis made me a cute little Build-A-Bear to bribe me into being his girlfriend (of course, how could I say no to that?!). It took Kurtis forever to propose! We were dating for about 8 years, and poor Kurtis kept having to suffer through my family bugging him about marriage. He was a good sport about it, and finally built up the courage to ask me to marry him after Thanksgiving dinner. We took our dog for a walk down by the lake, and Kurtis got down on one knee. I guess the dog could tell there was something exciting happening, because he started jumping around and tangled us up in his leash when I said yes!" They have had some pretty memorable moments together: Jessy: "Kurtis has done so many amazing things for me. From surprise vacation getaways, to Birthday dinners at the CN Tower, there have been so many great times! The bravest thing Kurtis has done for me was dropping everything and moving up North. When I accepted a teaching job in Northern Ontario, Kurtis dropped everything and moved with me. It was a huge change for both of us, but being in such a remote community (with nothing around but tons of snow) brought us closer together and showed us that we couldn’t live without one another." Kurtis: "Where do I even begin with all the memorable moments Jessy has made for me. From all the surprise parties she has thrown me, all the wonderful events she has taken me to and all the time she has spent getting dragged around to every hockey and baseball game that I attend. The most memorable moment I would have to say would be when Jessy kept encouraging me to get in the water and swim with the dolphins. I was really scared and I kept saying no I wasn’t going to go in, but Jessy kept telling me I could do it and that I would regret not doing it. I did it, and it was the most fun I had ever had. I was happy she told me to get out there and do it. Another memorable moment that will stick with me forever is the day Jessy said yes to becoming my wife. Of course I didn’t know if she was going to say yes but when she did it made me the happiest man in the world to be spending the rest of my life with this amazing and loving woman." Jessy & Kurtis' helpful tips: Kurtis’ tips: "Don’t wait too long, her family will keep bugging you about it! Enjoy every moment together. Take dancing lessons - it’s fun and it’s a great experience to practice together. Enjoy the entire day, it goes by faster than you think." Jessy’s tips: "Enjoy the planning! It’s a lot of work, but seeing everything come together is so special. Let your fiancé have (at least a little!) input in the planning process. It’s fun to plan together and create your perfect wedding. Don’t forget, you’re the only one who will notice if things don’t go quite according to plan - it’s not the end of the world, the day will still be amazing!" Kurtis' take on working with Mike: "Mike was great! He was fun to work with and captured moments with the guys where we were having fun and joking around. Mike was willing to take our strange-request photos (like our socks!) and was very easy going and friendly." Jessy's take on working with Cecilia: "Cecilia was wonderful to work with! When we arrived, Cecilia was right there as we got out of the limo with the camera going. Cecilia was so personable and easy to work with, she was so friendly and made us laugh and feel comfortable." "We would absolutely recommend Cecilia and Mike! They are a wonderful team who work very well together. It’s clear that they know what they are doing and have had a lot of experience working together to capture the most beautiful moments of such an important day. Cecilia and Mike are very personable and friendly toward everyone, and make everyone feel comfortable, which makes for amazing pictures. Thank you so much, Cecilia and Mike, for capturing our special day!" We love the kind words, Jessy & Kurtis. Thank you for choosing us as your Wedding photographers and for sharing your Wedding adventure with us! Cecilia & Mike XO
