Chic and Cool Wedding at York Mills Gallery in Toronto Ontario

Nicole & Chris' chic & cool Wedding at York Mills Gallery (YMG): If you are looking for an urban and industrial type venue, then look no further than York Mills Gallery, as it is one of Toronto's best places to host your Wedding reception.

Nicole & Chris' Wedding day was surrounded by family and friends and some of Chris' friends from the Toronto Police Dept. as he is an officer.  If you want to see a snippet of Nicole & Chris' winter Blue Mountain engagement session, click here.

They chose to get ready at the Edward Hotel in North York. Hotels or Air bnb's are the way to go now for getting ready as you can usually find accommodation close to your venue.  

Nicole: Cecilia did a phenomenal job with the ladies. She got some amazing shots of all of us getting ready. 

Chris: Mike was amazing with the guys. Mike was another one of the guys in the room, as he got along so well with everybody! He was courteous and funny and had great ideas for pictures.

Nicole & Chris' First Look

Nicole & Chris' First Look took place just outside their hotel room at Edward Hotel in Toronto. What was really adorable about their First Look was that there were children on the other side of the fence of the hotel that watched as Nicole & Chris met for the first time that day before the Ceremony. 

Portraits at Edwards Gardens

Edwards Gardens is a gorgeous place for photo opportunities. You will need a permit to use the grounds for photos. I would suggest a two hour time limit as this park is so packed with visitors and other Wedding parties. (It's a very busy place!) You will need that time period to roam the gardens as there is plenty of greenery but keep in mind that you will have to wait for favourite spots.  A good photographer (like Mike and I hehe) will know how to photograph/position so that people are not intruding on your photos, it's all in the angle, as there were a lot of visitors to the gardens. 

York Mills Gallery

York Mills Gallery is a chic and cool place to host your evening reception. York Mills Gallery offers an urban look. With its modern white painted brick walls as a backdrop, you won't need much décor. The white walls allow cool colours to dance off the walls once the DJ gets the party started. If you are looking for a clean, industrial, minimalistic look for your reception, York Mills Gallery offers this and much more including a string of golden lights that make for some gorgeous first dance photos. I really think the black and gold touches for the décor made a great impression when you walked into the room. It was chic and elegant, a great colour combo that worked for this venue. Bonus: York Mills Gallery has a beautiful outdoor ceremony spot, with brick on one side and large shrubbery & plenty of trees on the other side that block out the traffic and noise very well. Nicole & Chris definitely took advantage of the outdoor ceremony at YMG. 

Their Love Story...
We met each other in high school. Nicole was always hitting on Chris but he was a bit oblivious about it. We didn't get together until our early twenties. On December 31st 2015 we went to the Ripley's Aquarium for the very first time, took a stroll down on the harbour front where Chris got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of our lives together.  Chris chose New year's Eve because he knew Nicole wouldn't expect it to happen that night because it would be too cliché.

If you know Mike and I, you'll know that we find every opportunity to capture some beautiful photos. We had to end the evening with some sunset photos. Our advice, make time for an evening sunset stroll...

Nicole & Chris: We would recommend Mike and Cecilia. They are a true tag team and professional. They split up during the getting ready parts and take photos together from all angles to get the perfect shot.
